My white cleaning stone, the paste that cleans everything
A paste that dries hard as stone, is picked up with a damp sponge and cleans stainless steel, enamel and hobs without scratching.
Shop-bought cleaning stone is exactly that: fine chalk bound with soap. Making it yourself means you choose the scent and you know what is in it.
What you need
- 4 tablespoons of Meudon whiting
- 2 tablespoons of baking soda
- 1 tablespoon of black soap
- 35 drops of lavandin essential oil
- An empty jar and a scouring sponge
The method
Mix the Meudon whiting, baking soda and black soap in the jar.
Add the lavandin essential oil and mix until you have a smooth paste.
Leave to dry in the open air for two days, with the jar uncovered.
To use: dampen the scouring sponge, pick up a little paste, scrub, then always rinse with clean water.
Rinsing is not optional
If you do not rinse, Meudon whiting leaves a white film as it dries, especially visible on stainless steel and glass. A wipe with a damp cloth is enough.
Which surfaces
Stainless steel, enamel, hobs, sinks, tiles. Avoid untreated wood, marble and matt painted surfaces, which mark.
