A homemade milk bath in four ingredients

Baking soda softens hard water, Meudon whiting makes it milky. Enough to turn an ordinary bath into something far more pleasant.

In Belgium, tap water tends to be hard, and that is what leaves your skin feeling rough after a bath. Baking soda fixes this by softening the water.

What you need

  • 100 g baking soda
  • 50 g Meudon whiting
  • 1 tablespoon black soap
  • 2 tablespoons powdered milk
  • A few drops ylang-ylang or lavender essential oil

The method

1

Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl.

2

Add the black soap and essential oil, then stir.

3

Pour under the running hot water while the bath fills.

A word of caution

Essential oils are not suitable for pregnant women or children under six. In that case, leave them out: the recipe works very well without.

Rinse the bath after use: Meudon whiting leaves a chalky deposit if it dries.
