Deodorising sachets for cupboards and shoes

Two powders, five drops of essential oil and an old handkerchief: all it takes to freshen up a shoe cupboard in five minutes.

When the sandals go back in the cupboard and the trainers come back out, the shoe cupboard soon makes itself known. Baking soda absorbs moisture and neutralises odours, Sommières earth absorbs grease: together they tackle the cause instead of masking it.

What you need

  • 2 tablespoons baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon Sommières earth
  • 5 drops lavender or lemon eucalyptus essential oil
  • Small fabric bags, handkerchiefs or cotton scraps to tie up

The method

1

Mix the two powders in a bowl, add the drops of essential oil and stir.

2

Divide the mixture between the bags, or place it in the centre of a handkerchief and tie it up with string.

3

Slip them into your cupboards, trainers, sports bags or suitcases.

Good to know

Replace the sachets every month: after that, the baking soda is saturated and no longer absorbs anything. It is also a chance to change the scent with the seasons.

The doses for our products are on their packaging, and that is what counts. If swallowed or splashed, call the Poison Centre on +32 70 245 245 and keep the packaging to hand.
